Ramayan Re-Run: Raavan Arvind Trivedi Watches 'Sita Apaharan' Scene, Gets Misty Eyed - Video

The silver lining of this Coronavirus lockdown is that we are getting see all the old shows back on TV. Doordarshan has given us our childhood back as shows like Ramayan, Mahabharat, Shakitmaan and others are being re-run on TV. The popularity of the shows is insane and it has indeed benefitted the channel with great number of TRPs. Ramayan and Mahabharat were among the first ones to mark a comeback. Amidst this, a video of actor Arvind Trivedi, who essayed the role of Raavan in Ramayan, has gone viral on Instagram.
The video sees the veteran actor watching the Sita Apaharan scene on television. He is all emotional and also joins hands as if asking for forgiveness for doing a role like that of Raavan. "So touching. 84 year old veteran #ArvindTrivedi ji watched his #Ravana role after 30 years & seeks forgiveness from others," reads the caption attached with this video. Ramayan directed by Ramanand Sagar attained a lot of fame back then, to an extent where the stars were actually considered to be gods. With this being the case, one can imagine the hate received by the star for playing Raavan.
On the other side, Doordarshan recently got mired in controversy as someone posted on social media that the GEC is playing the mythological shows using Moser Baer DVDs along with Watermark. DD CEO Shashi Shekhar took to Twitter to clear the air.
Meanwhile, due to the re-running of old shows, Doordarshan has raked in the highest number of TRPs in the past few days. Other shows that have made a comeback are Shriman Shrimati, Bymokesh Bakshi, Chanakya, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and a few more.
